HBI Investments participated, along with Royal Star International and ATS in the signing related to funding for the $200M(US) development of the Yen-Tu region of Vietnam with an agreement that allows for up to $500M. Along with being invited as the North American representative for investment in Vietnam, HBI signed as witness to the funding agreement.
Yen Tu is an area of cultural and historical significance and the spiritual birthplace of Vietnamese Buddhism. It receives between 30-60,000 visitors per day during the high season and not less that 3,000 visitors on any day of the year. On January 1st of this year 100,000 visitored in a single day.

A delegation including Garth Schmalenberg from HBI Investments along with members of the investment team from Royal Star (CEO Clement Tsang) and the development organization ATS (CEO Ms. Nguyen Thi Thoa) were hosted by the head Monk representing the Vietnameses Buddhist Association at the temple in Hanoi and were featured on the National news. The delegation later visited the temple near the building site and were hosted by the Monk who will be representing the Buddhist community during the project.
